lets have a toast for the douche bags.

clap clap clap, congrats you've succesfully imitated kanye west...what will you do now? ok first things first i like kanye west just as much as the next guy, but i will by no means "swagger jack" the man or imitate him. i am my own man and as far as i am concerned i dress pretty damn well. if you want to wear comme de garcons or dior homme then go for it..but come on? going to forever 21 mens sections and getting cheap knock offs to try imitate someone else is weak. be you! create your own look...if you really want to be on that next level of "fashion" do something that no one has done..i'll respect you more if you do that even if you look stupid.`

one little two little three little four little douche bags.
this guy needs to put a quarter in his ass cause he played himself...
im just gonna leave this alone.
yeah i wouldn't anyone to know who i am either.

back then.

back before young people had the notion that style was mass produced skinny jeans and that making a statement entailed wearing bright colors, people could dress. in my opinion these are some of the best dressed men of all time. they are the best dressed because they found a style that fit them and went with it. they did not wear fad clothing but rather went with simple styles that suited them.

dip set forever?!

before big sean and chip tha ripper were rapping about clothes and money, there was cam'ron and the dip-set byrd gang. they were considered among the most fashionable rappers in the industry. their style of clothing was characterized by throwback jersey's, timberland boots, fitted caps and flamboyant colors. cam' had a unique style of rapping in where he would rhyme multiple words in a single bar and rhyme obscure words which is still his trademark.

"Said she don't like men/I just laughed, ma, if we link, we link/You don't like men? me neither, what a coinkydink"

bttf.

if you know me, you know im a huge fan of 80's films. my favorite movie of all time is ferris bueller's day off..which was made in the 80's. aside from this the back to the future triology is among my favorites. for those of you don't know the 25th anniversary of bttf is among us and that being said the movies are being released in blu-ray, aside from that footage from the original five weeks of shooting is being released. the original five weeks featured eric stoltz as marty mcfly, but i bet you didn't know that.

candice.

don't forget the lyrics is a show that first aired on fox in 2007. it was hosted by wayne brady and was short lived. it has since then made a return and is now hosted by mark mcgrath.
tonight i had the pleasure of watching my girlfriend be on the show. she had tons of fun and yes she is wearing a hot dog on a stick uniform, as is she was there to represent her company. she is moving up and is one of the most known personalities in her company, as well being recognized as a manger of the year. congrats candice!!

the basics..timeless

here at the rockerfeller, we don't believe in fads instead we believe in timeless style. so i have made a list of basic that every man should keep in his closet so that he can remain relevant in today's ever changing world without looking like a trend hopping jackass.

first is the timeless polo, preferably ralph lauren. rl polo's tend to hold up better over time but keep in mind they retail for about $75. the polo is timeless and can be dressed up or down easily. just add a cardigan to dress it up or forget the cardigan and you look casual.
the second must have is a good pair of jeans. i don't mean you have to spend hundreds of dollars but stay away from anchor blue or any sign that says 2 pairs for... instead buy some levi's. if you can afford to splurge i would recommend hundreds denim, seven, dkny or nudie. try to the make sure you get a basic jean without too many logos so you can rewear them anything with noticeable logos should be worn sparingly.
a simple pair of shoes is great too. i would always recommend for the simple fact that black goes with everything. if vans aren't your taste that is fine, maybe some converse allstars, jack prucells or nike blazers are more your speed. try not to buy anything to expensive as these should be all purpose and a pair of shoes you're not afraid to get dirty, as these are for everyday uses.
last but not least...a timepiece. in a world thats ruled by cell phones and technology we can easily check our phone for the time, but a timepiece allows you to do the same and also adds to what you are currently wearing. in addition its sets you apart because most people don't wear watches. it doesn't have to be expensive just something you're comfortable in. try to stay away from metal bands as they scratch easy which limits how long you can wear them. leather is great because even if your band wears away you can always replace it, and its much cheaper than buying new links for a metal watch.
i leave you with this: in the world of fashion simplicity is king.

this one is dedicated to the undedicated.

For those of you who don't know i attend the University of California, San Diego which means most likely my school ranks higher than yours, not being cocky, just merely stating a fact. that being said i worked hard to get here and stay here and let me tell you there is nothing more annoying than when a student brags about how they didn't study for the test or how they didn't buy the book for the class. my message to them "you're ugly and your mom hates you". seriously why are you here if thats your attitude? so if you think your too cool to work hard stay home. let me work my ass off . let me make six figures and live that life style you wish you could...

oh its like that

jodeci is easily one of the greatest r&b groups that has ever graced the genre. if you do not know jodeci then you're really missing out on a great era of music. k-ci and jo-jo had a spin off group which was succesful but i feel the harmonizing that was brought by the entire group was a more full sound. be warned some of the lyrical content is explicit, but what isn't now and days. sidenote: as a child my father would blast this through the house and i would sing to it not knowing what the songs meant.

watch yourself.

i've noticed many young men my age no longer wear time pieces, mainly because everyone carries a cell phone now. that being said i think it is important to own at least one time piece.
shown here is a basic g-shock much like the one i own. this a great watch because its useful stylish and it goes with everything. this watch sells for $99. it also goes with everything because its black on black. please take my advice and do not get a watch that is a crazy. a watch should look like an accessory on your wrist not bag of skittles.
this next watch is one from the michael kors collection. i think this one is of the best watched i've seen in a while. it is simple and elegant. it can be dressed up and down which is always great to keep in mind when purchasing a watch. although michael kors is a high designer his watches are moderately priced. this one is $165
both of the watches i showed are large faced watches, keep in mind this is what is in style. that being said lets be smart about our purchases. don't get something thats too impractical and says look at me i have bad taste.

bar hopping.

in japan design is key in everything, from the housing to the barcodes. d-barcode is a japanese company that designs barcodes for companies to use on their packaging. the running rate on the barcode design is $2000 and licensing for the year is $200.i feel that implementing such unique barcodes on a product gives it a more personal touch. it lets the customer know you put thought in to the product and that you have a passion for it rather than just trying to make a quick buck...but then again maybe im reading too much into barcode design.

swag....less

i understand the point of getting diamond chains is a way to celebrate ones success and as a marker of status. what i don't understand is why celebrities get tasteless objects and have them diamond encrusted...like kirby the nintendo character.

taz arnold: wackest in the game.

i don't want you to get the impression that im a hater or a naysayer but once again i must bring taz arnold and his poor taste into the light. this hat & shirt are part of the "obama" collection from taz arnolds brand tisa.

hot dog on a stick should sue taz arnold for stealing their uniform design. real orignal taz keep it up.

back for the first time.

i apologize for being away for so long but i've been out and about celebrating life. i spent my weekend with a special someone, shopping and eating well. so now that we've caught up its time to inform you about some new. this is the la jolla strip club. this restaurant is unique because of its name, but more importantly you order your steak and cook it your self.
each steak includes a house salad and garlic bread sides are extra but worth the little bit of extra money.
if you ever wondered what success tasted like...well yeah.
finished product with scalloped potatoes.
if you're ever in the la jolla area i highly recommend it

act like you don't know

inside the heart of los angeles lies olvera street, which is famous for being the first street in los angeles. now usually i would not recommend that people spend time in areas that are tourist attractions but this place is an exception. cielito lindo is one of the many places to eat at, at olvera street. this place is famous for having what most people consider the best taquitos in all of los angeles. i highly recommend it.
i also suggest you try mr churro after. they make the churros after you order them then you have the option of putting a filling.
